I create natural fiber bags that celebrate the world’s cultural traditions – fabric piecing is my art and textiles are my paints. My work treads as lightly as possible on the Earth. To honor both culture and environment, I work with re-purposed cloth (vintage linens, estate fabrics, and thrift shop rescues), organic fibers, and newly milled fabrics from around the world that are free trade, hand-printed, designed by indigenous artists, and/or sustainably produced. Some of my newest designs incorporate surface manipulation (cording, pleating, etc.), textural threadwork, and couched fibers.
